The release of the Ukrainian game “STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl” started at 18:00 Kyiv time on November 20. The game is available on PC and Xbox Series, including with an Xbox Game Pass subscription. A million copies were sold in a day and a half.

The announcement appeared on the company's Twitter. GSC notes that this figure does not include downloads of the game from Xbox Game Pass. The real number of players is much higher.

The developers thanked everyone who believed in them and announced that this is just the beginning of the journey for Stalker 2.

It is not surprising that the Zone has become crowded. A million copies have been sold, and many more stalkers have joined the hunt for artifacts with Game Pass. This is just the beginning of our unforgettable adventure. The heart of Chernobyl radiates stronger with each of us. Thank you, stalkers, they wrote.

“Stalker 2” was released just two days ago, and has already received a lot of good feedback from players. Of the 18 thousand user reviews on Steam, 80% are positive.

However, the game failed to win the same unequivocal love from critics. Upon release, “Stalker 2” received 76 points on Metacritic, which is a fairly average result. Journalists actively criticize the project for its technical condition, although they admit that the game is made wonderfully.
