The court sentenced a Ukrainian who created blueprints for Russian nuclear power plants

The Ukrainian specialist was engaged in drawing and calculations for Russian nuclear power plants power plants The court found him guilty of aiding the aggressor state and imposed a punishment.

This is stated in the verdict published in the Unified State Register of Court Decisions.

Director of Kharkiv LLC “Yuzhatomenergoproekt” established financial and economic relations with Russian enterprises before the full-scale invasion. It was, in particular, about cooperation with the company “Alfapro” regarding the development of design and technical documentation to support the current technical state, as well as the modernization and reconstruction of existing nuclear power plants on the territory of Russia. It is known that nine current and former employees of Yuzhatomenergoproekt LLC participated in this activity, including the accused.

No later than the end of April 2022, the man was entrusted with the preparation of project and technical documentation, which included descriptions and drawings for the branches of JSC “Concern Rosenergoatom” — Balakovo, Kola and Kaliningrad nuclear power plants.

The accused graduated from the Kharkiv Polytechnic University with a degree in boilers and reactors. While at home, he completed the work on his laptop and sent it to the director by e-mail, who, in turn, passed the results to the representatives of the Russian “Alfapro” LLC. for further transfer to NPP branches.

For his work, the man received 80,000 hryvnias.

Thus, by his actions, the employees of Yuzhatomenergoproekt Ltd. actually leveled Ukraine's sanctions policy against the Russian Federation by supporting the enemy's nuclear power industry.

During the court session, the man admitted his guilt. He was sentenced to ten years with confiscation of property and a ten-year ban on engaging in activities related to the development of design and technical documentation in the field of energy.
