The court rejected Hunter Biden's request to postpone the trial

A federal court has set a hearing for June in Hunter Biden's case of providing false information when buying a gun.

The judge announced this, rejecting the request of the lawyers of the son of the US president to postpone the trial, reports the Associated Press.

District Judge Maryellen Noreika rejected Hunter Biden's request to delay the trial until September. The defense said it was necessary to find witnesses and examine evidence presented by the prosecution.

President Joe Biden's son is accused of lying on a drug questionnaire in October 2018 when asked about drug use. purchasing the gun, which he kept for about 11 days.

Hunter Biden, who has maintained his innocence, admitted that he was struggling with a crack cocaine addiction at the time in 2018. His lawyers said he did not break the law.
