The commercial court of Kyiv recognized as legal the termination of the contract concluded between the UOC monastery and the reserve "Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra". The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy reports this.
On August 9, 2023, the Commercial Court of the city of Kyiv recognized as legal the termination of the contract of free use concluded between the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Men's Monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church and the “Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra” National Reserve. It is about the premises of the Lower Lavra. Thus, the Commercial Court of the city of Kyiv refused to satisfy the claims of the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra (Men's Monastery) of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. This religious organization still wanted to use religious buildings and other state-owned property.
Earlier BAGNET reported that the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy found during the inspection a number of violations of the contract, concluded between the UOC and the reserve, which became the grounds for its termination.
The reserve terminated the Agreement on the free use of property with the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (Men's Monastery) on March 29, 2023. < /p>
UOC MP lawyer Mykyta Chekman reported that the monastery was accused of keeping the property in an improper condition, and therefore violated the terms of the contract.
