The court confiscated the phone of a Volyn resident for reporting the distribution of summonses

The Kovel City District Court found Serhiy Parkhomchuk guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, but released him from punishment, assigning him a two-year probationary period. In addition, the court confiscated his Samsung Galaxy A32s phone. The verdict states that the accused created a group on Viber, where he reported on the work of the Territorial Center for Recruiting and Social Support.

According to the case materials, Serhiy Parkhomchuk, who is a native of the village of Goluby, created a group on Viber on September 16 to help fellow villagers and residents of the Kovel district avoid military service. The community had almost 14 thousand subscribers. The investigation did not identify other people who made publications in the group about the work of the TCC. The verdict states that Serhiy Parkhomchuk reported the direction of travel, specified the cars in which the military were.

In court, Serhiy Parkhomchuk fully admitted his guilt, repented, and concluded a plea agreement with the prosecutor. Judge Petro Boychuk found him guilty of obstructing the lawful activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Part 1, Article 114-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and sentenced him to two years of probation. In addition, Serhiy Parkhomchuk's Samsung Galaxy A32s phone was confiscated. The verdict can be appealed in the Volyn Court of Appeal.
