The Congress of Judges elected all 8 members of the High Council of Justice

Delegates of the XIX Extraordinary Congress of Judges elected all eight members of the High Council of Justice (HCJ). This was reported by Council of Judges of Ukraine.

Yes, Tatiana Bondarenko, Olena Kovbiy and Sergiy Burlakov.

On January 12, the counting commission for holding a repeated secret ballot for the election of members of the Supreme Council of the XIX century by an extraordinary congress of judges of Ukraine announced the results of the second round of voting.

The ballot for the second round of voting was 6 candidates.

It should be noted that 4 candidates were included in the quota from general courts. Congress delegates could vote for two of them. To the quota from administrative courts – 2 candidates, in which it was possible to vote for no more than one candidate.

The following were elected members of the Supreme Council according to the results of secret ballot:

  • Tatiana Znamenovna Bondarenko – judge of the Nikolaev Court of Appeal
  • Kovbiy Elena Vasilievna – judge of the Kherson District Administrative Court.
  • Sergiy Burlakov, who was elected after the second round of secret ballot, became the last representative in the Supreme Court of Justice from the congress of judges. He is a judge of the Civil Court of Cassation as part of the Supreme Court.

    Thus, the 19th Extraordinary Congress of Judges of Ukraine elected all eight members The Supreme Court of Justice, which will allow the resumption of the work of the body of judicial self-government, unblock a number of processes in the judiciary related to the work of courts and personnel issues, as well as continue the implementation of tasks related to judicial reform.

    In addition to the three above-mentioned judges, the following became members of the Supreme Court of Justice from the Congress of Judges of Ukraine:

    • Alla Viktorovna Kotelevets – Judge of the Kharkov Court of Appeal
    • Usyk Grigory Ivanovich &ndash ; Judge of the Civil Court of Cassation as part of the Supreme Court
    • Sasevich Alexander Mikhailovich – Judge of the Lviv District Administrative Court
    • Yulia Valerievna Bokova – Judge of the Economic Court of the Donetsk Region
    • Popikova Olga Vladimirovna – Judge of the Northern Economic Court of Appeal

    All newly elected members of the Supreme Court of Justice have taken the oath and will work in the judiciary for the next four years .

    It is noted that the election of candidates from the Congress of Judges of Ukraine will allow unblocking the work of the High Council of Justice and restore its institutional ability to make decisions, since with the newly elected members the quantitative composition of the Supreme Council of Justice will be 15 people, and this is the necessary quorum for the work of a collective body .
