The Cabinet of Ministers decided to terminate the classified telephone communication between Kyiv and Moscow

The Cabinet of Ministers on Friday, August 30, decided to terminate the agreement between the Ukrainian and Russian governments regarding the organization of a direct classified telephone communication line. communication between Kyiv and Moscow dated February 27, 1998.

This was reported by Economic Truth with reference to the draft document submitted for consideration by the Vice Prime Minister – Minister of Innovation, Development of Education, Science and Technology Mykhailo Fedorov.

As noted in the EP, the resolution was developed  «administration of the State Special Service’in connection with implementation of the plan of measures to exit of Ukraine from bilateral and multilateral documents with the Russian Federation, the Republic of Belarus and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Fedorov added that the agreement had lost relevance because , that the parties do not apply the mechanisms of cooperation provided for by it. He added that    fulfilment of obligations under the agreement by the Ukrainian side poses a threat to the national interests of Ukraine».

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine should also inform the Russian government about the termination of the agreement.< /p>
