(Boston) Brad Marchand and Patrice Bergeron both scored twice and the Boston Bruins crushed the Philadelphia Flyers 6-1 on Saturday night.
Charlie Coyle and Craig Smith had one goal and one assist each for the Bruins. Marchand scored his two goals in the third period and Bergeron completed the scoring.
Jaroslav Halak stopped 16 shots for his first win of the season. The Boston troops signed a second straight win against the Flyers.
Kevin Hayes was the Flyers’ sole scorer. Carter Hart finished the game with 20 saves.
Two nights after the Bruins beat the Flyers 5-4 in a shootout, Saturday’s clash was close until the second period. Coyle put the table on goal for Smith, which broke the tie 1-1, and Smith returned courtesy to him later in the second period.
Early in the third period, Marchand raised the score to 4-1 when he completed Bergeron’s maneuver. He then took advantage of a power play to extend the lead to 5-1.
