The Bridgertons star Jonathan Bailey will star in Showtime's new Fellow Travelers miniseries alongside Matt Bomer (American Horror Story) and Allison Williams (Get Out). Deadline reports. The series is based on the novel of the same name by Thomas Mallon.

The Bridgertons star will play in the series about the romance of two different men

The series will tell about the romance of two different men during the most important events of the 20th century . Their relationship spans four decades, from the Vietnam War to the AIDS outbreak in the 1980s. Tim Laughlin (Bailey) is religious and optimistic about the post-World War II future, while the charismatic Hawkins Fuller (Bomer) is thriving financially in a behind-the-scenes career in politics. Fuller avoids emotional attachments until he meets the idealistic Laughlin.

The script was written by Ron Nieswaner (The Painted Veil, Philadelphia).

Fellow Travelers will begin filming in late July at Toronto. The premiere date has not been announced.

According to the ProShoKino editors, a prequel novel about the queen will be released based on the Bridgerton series.
