The best video cards of 2024 in different price categories have been named

Experts have named the recently released Intel Arc B580 with 12 GB of video memory as the best option from the affordable GPU segment.

The authors of the popular YouTube channel about technology Hardware Unboxed released a new video in which they summed up 2024, naming the best graphics cards on the market.

The selection includes cards of all price categories: from budget solutions to flagships. If you don't actively follow the GPU market, this may be useful for you when choosing a new device.

  • Best Budget Graphics Cards

The best option in the affordable GPU segment, according to Hardware Unboxed, is the recently released Intel Arc B580 with 12 GB of video memory. It puts both the Radeon RX 7600 and RTX 4060 to shame, while both cards are more expensive and only offer 8 GB of VRAM.

The video card is currently hard to come by, as the first batch sold out in one day, but if the manufacturer can get it into stock, the B580 will be the best option for budget gaming PCs. If you don't want to wait, Hardware Unboxed advises you to stop at the Radeon RX 7600.

  • Mid-range video cards

The Radeon RX 7700 XT fits perfectly into the $400-500 segment. In games, it performs at the level of the RTX 3070 Ti and RX 6800. The video card is suitable for 1080p and 2K gaming. But if you want to see what ray tracing looks like in games, it's better to choose the RTX 4070, even though it's more expensive.

In the sub-flagship segment ($500-700) there are three choices. Radeon RX 7900 for those who need maximum performance, RTX 4070 Super for games with ray tracing, and Radeon RX 7900 GRE was called the best option for those who want to save money without losing much in performance.

  • Flagship graphics cards

If the budget allows, then the GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super and Radeon RX 7900 XTX will satisfy all your gaming needs.

However, experts have warned that early next year will see the introduction of NVIDIA RTX 50 and AMD Radeon RX 8000 graphics cards, so, maybe it's worth waiting for new releases if possible.
