RTBF has just announced it. Jérémie Makiese will be the Belgian candidate for the 66th edition of the Eurovision Song Contest.
The young man, winner of The Voice Belgium in 2021 at only 20 years old, was chosen by our colleagues to represent Belgium in the European singing competition. It will take place in May 2022 in Italy, following the victory of the Måneskin group this year.
Originally from Antwerp, and now based in Uccle, Jérémie Makiese signed a contract with Universal Music after its victory in the tele-hook. He had marked the spirits following his interpretation of Jealous de Labyrinth. He gave an interview to La DH after his victory.
The winner had decided to take a break from his geology studies, to devote himself to these two passions: music and football. In addition to being a singer, Jérémie is also a goalkeeper: he has just signed for Virton.
For Eurovision, the young man will undoubtedly be able to count on the support of BJ Scott, his coach during the The Voice adventure and now a mentor in the musical world. The two artists share church and gospel.
