Passy (France) – Cycling's Tour de France continues today after a day off with an individual time trial that can significantly shuffle the overall order. After two weeks of racing, the yellow jersey of the leader is held by defending champion Jonas Vingegaard from Denmark. His biggest rival and two-time champion Tadej Pogačar from Slovenia is ten seconds behind him.

In the 16th stage, the only individual time trial of the 110th edition of the Tour awaits the cyclists. They have to complete a route of 22.4 km from Passy to Combloux, at the end of which there is a more than six kilometer long climb on the Cote de Domancy with an average gradient of 6.6 percent.
