The Basmanny Court of Moscow arrested in absentia the head of the human rights organization Human Rights Foundation, the widow of opposition politician Alexei Navalny, Yulia.

She is accused of participating in an extremist community. As reported in court on Tuesday, July 9, Navalnaya, at the request of the investigation, was arrested for two months. The period will be calculated from the moment of extradition to Russian territory or from the moment of her detention on the territory of the country, Radio Liberty reports.

The press service of the Moscow courts says in a statement that Yulia Navalnaya has also been put on the wanted list. At the same time, at the time of publication of this information, there was no card in the name of Navalnaya in the search database of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, notes Mediazona.

According to the charges brought, the widow of Alexei Navalny faces up to 6 years in prison.
