Back in May 2024, “Cake and Whip” released the song “Silence” based on a poem by the Ukrainian poet Yevhen Pluzhnyk. And on September 26, the band presented a music video for this track.

The poem “Shut up! I know. By all accounts…” was included in the 1948 collection “Rivnovaga”. Watch the video of the Ukrainian band on YouTube.

The composition is part of the album “Zamrodovani. The first call”, which is the first part of the triptych. It consists of 12 compositions with poems by Ukrainian poets who died tragically at different times. It included compositions based on poems by Vasyl Stus, Hryhori Chuprinka, Vasyl Bobynskyi, Yevgeny Pluzhnyk, Mykola Voronoi, Mykola Svidzinskyi, and Vasyl Vyshivany. Ukraine and its artists.

In fact, the video for the piece “Silence” should have been the first from the project “Gagged”, but Darinka chose the sung poetry “And Sinful and Holy” by Hryhori Chuprinka. According to the storyline of this song, the main character in my interpretation was Evgeny Pluzhnyk, and in the scene in the schoolroom he writes the words “Shut up…” in a notebook. Such a tiny hint that in the end becomes a certain transition to the next work, which is what Yevhen Pluzhnyk's poetry became, – said the founder of the band, Maryan Pirozhok.

The director of the clip, Darina Shi, says that the video has everything that cannot be without it – creativity, love, women and death.

I am very happy to be able to shoot a video for the beloved Pie and the Whip, for several reasons: I have free will in inventing the visual part and all my inventions are welcomed by the boys; I enjoy the music that the guys make, and it is the music that inspires me and pushes me to do what I do, not out of compulsion, but out of inspiration; I can enjoy the result, because that's exactly what I wanted, and I'm grateful to Maryanchyk that my wings, which are at the beginning of creating an idea, remain as big as they were after handing over the finished video, she says.

The Pirig and Batig project is a team created in 2019 while working on material by Stepan Rudanskyi, the result of which was the album “Singing-speaking”. The band defines its style as “sung poetry” or “recitation in songs”.

It all started as a trio of Maryan Pyrozhka (pseudonym – Maryan Pyrig), Markiyan Turkanik and Sashko Marusiak, and later to them Vsevolod Sadovy, oboist Yuriy Khvostov, contrabassist Artem Kamenkov, bassoonist Kristov Vikov and percussionist Lesyk Omodada joined.
