The Ministry of Defense of Ukraine approved the supply of Buffalo MPV armored vehicles to the Armed Forces, which are considered to be among the safest on the planet.
The original version was developed for the United States Army. The armored vehicle belongs to the MRAP class, which provides protection for the crew against detonation of mines and firing from ambushes.
The unique design of the Buffalo MPV includes a V-shaped bottom to dissipate the energy of the explosion and shock-absorbing seats for greater safety.
< p>The armored car codified in Ukraine is an improved version of the South African CASSPIR armored car, which was widely used in military conflicts in South Africa, Afghanistan and Iraq. These cars have earned many praises for reliable protection of the crew in conditions of intense shelling and explosions. According to the assurances of the developers, there were no recorded deaths of fighters inside the vehicle.
Class of protection of the tank – STANAG 4569 (Level III), which means the ability to withstand explosions equivalent to 20 kilos of TNT. The armored capsule is made of composite armor and additionally protected by cumulative grids. The windows are equipped with 15-centimeter bulletproof glass. Buffalo MPVs are currently in service with the American, Canadian, French, Italian, British and Pakistani armies. The terms of the transfer of armored personnel carriers to the needs of the Armed Forces have not been specified.
