Prices for flagship smartphones continue to rise as manufacturers cram more and more features into them. But at least some of these new technologies are trickling down to budget phones that continue to improve without significantly increasing prices.
The editorial staff of the NY Times portal has highlighted two inexpensive Android phones that are worth paying attention to in early 2025.
Samsung Galaxy A15 5G
According to experts, this is the most balanced «budget» on the market – it has a bright and juicy 6.5-inch AMOLED display with a frequency of 90 Hz. It is comfortable to watch videos, surf the Internet and play games on it even in sunny weather. The Dimensity 6100+ chip and 4GB of RAM in the A15 are more than enough for multitasking and everyday tasks.
In addition, Samsung offers an unprecedented four years of software updates for a cheap smartphone, meaning fresh updates will come until 2028, when the conditional Android 19 will be released.
Moto G Power 2024
The phone costs $100 more, but has a large 6.7-inch LCD display with a frequency of 120 Hz, a more powerful Mediatek Dimensity 7020 processor with 8GB of RAM and wireless charging. However, its main feature is its two-day battery life.
However, its LCD screen is not as bright as the Galaxy A15's OLED display, and it won't get as many Android updates as its competitor. Still, it's a great value for the money.
