Tesla has introduced two cheaper versions of its Model S sedan and Model X SUV in the United States, but with less range, thus continuing to focus on reducing costs to increase sales, reports Reuters.

The new Model S and X will cost $78,490 and $88,490, respectively, which is about 10% cheaper than the previous budget models. They will be available for delivery starting from September-October of this year.

The lowest price for cars is for electric cars with “pearl white” exterior and all-black interior, other colors will cost more.

It is noted that the new Model S sedan has a range of up to 515 km, which is less than the previous versions with a range of up to 652 km.

The new Model X SUV has a range of up to 433 km, down from previous versions with a range of up to 560 km.

The Austin, Texas-based automaker has cut prices in the U.S., China and other markets since the end of last year and has offered other incentives to reduce its inventory in an attempt to protect itself from competition and economic uncertainty.
