If you have long wanted to lease a Tesla Cybertruck, your time has come. The cheapest Cybertruck, a twin-motor all-wheel drive model, will cost you $999 a month after a down payment of $7,500 over 36 months.
Despite the fact that the Cybertruck is much more expensive than originally promised, it is a sales success. Even after Tesla pulled the $63,235 rear-wheel drive version from sale in August, the Cybertruck was still the third best-selling electric vehicle in America in the third quarter of 2024, The Drive reports.
Tesla initially struggled to build the Cybertruck fast enough to meet its pre-orders, but it looks like supply has finally met or even exceeded demand if the lease is now being discussed.
For $999 a month, you get 600 horsepower from a twin-motor powerplant, 325 miles of estimated range and a claimed acceleration time from 0 to 100 kilometers per hour is 4.1 seconds. If you upgrade to the more powerful and more expensive Cyberbeast, you'll pay $1,148 a month, again after a down payment of $7,500, over 36 months. For that money, you get 845 hp, 301 miles of range on a full charge, and a 0-60 mph time of 2.6 seconds. Both trims are rated to tow 11,000 pounds.
Now let's put that into perspective. There are several electric pickup trucks on the market right now, but given the Cybertruck's power, performance and market positioning, we'll focus on two models with similar specs: the Rivian R1T Dual and the Chevy Silverado EV RST.

The Rivian R1T Dual also boasts a dual-motor all-wheel drive transmission, as the name suggests. If you opt for the Performance Upgrade package, it offers 655 hp, 329 miles of claimed range, a 0-60 mph time of 3.4 seconds, and can tow 7,700 pounds. To lease it, you'll pay $833 a month, including a $7,500 down payment, over 36 months. If you add the Max Battery option, which increases the range to 420 miles and the towing capacity to 11,000 pounds, the lease price jumps to $1,023 per month.
The Chevy Silverado EV RST is equipped with a 645-horsepower twin-motor powerplant and can travel 390 miles on a full charge in the standard “Extended Range” configuration. It can tow 10,500 pounds, which is slightly less than the Cyber Transporter. To lease an RST, you'll pay $946 per month for 36 months, after a $7,500 down payment.
Tesla's Cybertruck lease price may seem steep at first, but it's in line with the competition. The exception is the Rivian R1T with a standard battery, which can be leased for significantly less than Tesla's cheapest pickup if you're willing to sacrifice a little towing capacity. For some buyers, leasing a cyber vehicle may also be more attractive than buying with cash, as the value of used cyber vehicles appears to be falling.
