The authorities are trying to reach the place to regain control of the road, which, for the moment, remains closed.

Between five and eight tractor trucks that transported coal were burned on the afternoon of this Monday on the road between Ocaña and Cúcuta (Norte de Santander).

Apparently, several men with weapons were responsible for incinerating the vehicles in the Pass through the corregimiento La Curva. Before committing the act, the drivers of these were forced to get out of the vehicles.

According to Blu Radio, the authorities took action on the situation and seek to reach the place to regain control of the road that, for the moment, remains closed. Likewise, it seeks to establish which criminal group would have been responsible for the attack, since the dissidents of the Farc and Los Pelusos commit crimes in the area.

The media also reported that this is the second situation of this type that has occurred in less than eight days in the aforementioned road corridor, taking into account that the previous week a tractor-trailer was also incinerated in a spot on that road, very close to the municipality of Sardinata.

“That road is dangerous, not only because of the bad state that it presents, but because of these events that end up generating fear among travelers and ending the livelihood of several families,” a driver told Blu Radio.

In the same way, an audio is circulating on social networks that was sent by one of the drivers via WhatsApp.

“Hey Dario, they burned my mule over there , over there they just set it on fire and the only thing they told the driver was that they were burning it because Carbo was not paying for the vaccine”, he begins.

Then he continues: “Then, the Chinese told him that the cars were not from the company and then they told him an hp doesn't matter and they sprayed him with gasoline and they didn't even let him take out his suitcase or his cell phone.”

“War tax”

In social networks there is also an alleged statement circulating that would be from the front 33 of the Farc and is dated October 2022. In it, a call is made to several companies and a “war tax” is required, which would be discussed between the representative of one of the companies and that of said guerrilla group.

Another union that repudiated the act was Defencarga Colombia, which brings together logistics operators, among others.

“We repudiate and reject the events that occurred in Norte de Santander, where 8 cargo vehicles were incinerated and their drivers suffered severe threats. The country's logistics sector requires and demands security in the provision of the service from Gustavo Petro and the National Police, “he stressed.

Meanwhile , the former presidential candidate Enrique Gómez Martínez cited that on Monday the peace talks between the ELN and the national government began in Caracas (Venezuela) and criticized the Historical Pact, party of President Petro.

“Negotiations for total impunity and the criminal offer to rise began: burning of tractor-trailers in Norte de Santander, sector of La Curva, municipality of Bucarasica. The Historical Pact gang complies, allows the worst criminals to corner good citizens,” he said.
