Telegram messenger blocks Russian propaganda channels in the EU

Telegram on Saturday, December 28, began blocking Russian propaganda channels in the European Union.

This was reported by the Center for Countering Disinformation.

According to the Center, the Telegram channel of the propaganda publication «RIA Novosti» began to be blocked in European countries due to violation of local legislation. The channel is currently unavailable in Poland, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, the Czech Republic and Italy.

«This indicates a gradual decrease in Russian information influence in Europe, where propaganda is consistently being countered», – the post adds.

Russian media outlets report that European countries have also begun blocking the NTV, «Russia 1», «Izvestia» and RT channels.
