Technical specifications of German Sea Tiger combat helicopters revealed

The NH90 Sea Tiger helicopter has successfully completed 11-month flight tests and is ready for delivery to the German Navy at the end of 2025. This was announced by the Airbus Helicopters company after 140 hours of test flights, during which all systems of the aircraft were checked, according to Army Inform.

Germany will receive 31 NH90 Sea Tiger helicopters to replace the aging Sea Lynx Mk88A in service since 1981. The new machines will be based on Navy frigates and are designed to combat submarines and surface ships, as well as for reconnaissance, search and rescue and transport operations.

The

NH90 features advanced technology, including an all-wire flight control system that improves stability and reduces pilot stress. The composite frame provides low radar visibility, and the spacious cabin allows for the transport of up to 20 troops or 12 stretchers for medical evacuation.

Since entering service in 2007, the NH90 has been supplied to several NATO countries, including Belgium, France and Italy. By the beginning of 2023, more than 500 such helicopters have flown more than 400,000 hours. Despite initial technical problems and high maintenance cost, modernizations have significantly increased the reliability of the machine.

An additional contract with NATO for € 600 million is aimed at extending the service life of NH90 and its adaptation to&nbsp modern requirements. The NH90 Sea Tiger is expected to become an important asset of the German Navy to perform critical missions in various environments.
