A Regina woman faces numerous charges after stealing a taxi on Saturday. Police say she threatened to kill the driver before seizing the vehicle.

Police say they responded to the taxi theft near the intersection of Angus Street and 5th Avenue in Regina. According to police, the woman threatened the driver, who fled. She then grabbed the taxi, also escaping police control.

The taxi got stuck on a staircase at the Cornwall Center after entering several stores. This is where the suspect was arrested.

She is notably accused of theft, fleeing the police, and driving while impaired.

She is due to appear in provincial court in Regina on the 18th December.
