Symposium and cabaret
Events start in the Netherlands
Is that courage or recklessness? Various security concepts for events are to be tested in field tests in the Netherlands. “Fieldlab Events” begins with a symposium with around 500 people. With tests and movement trackers, corona-safe concepts should be created at events.
Hundreds of people in a hall or stadium – and that despite Corona? Whether and how this could work is now to be tested in the Netherlands. To begin with, around 500 participants will come together for a specialist conference on Monday in the Beatrix The ater in Utrecht. The following week there is a cabaret show with an audience on the program, reported the Dutch news agency ANP.
Football games with 1,500 spectators each, as well as shows in the Ziggo Dome in Amsterdam and open-air events in a holiday park are also planned – each with extensive precautionary measures.
The event industry, the Ministry of Health, other authorities and scientific institutions in the Netherlands have agreed on this as part of the Fieldlab Events initiative. The aim is to develop corona-safe and trustworthy concepts for events with an audience.
With tests and questions
All those involved must have a corona negative test no longer than 48 hours old. Upon arrival, they will be asked about possible symptoms and a fever will be taken. Rapid tests are carried out if there are any suspicions. Each participant is obliged to undergo another corona test five days later.
In addition, everyone must carry a motion sensor with them during the event so that it can be tracked where they have been during the time. The field test also included some spectators wearing masks and others wearing face shields. The data obtained are evaluated by several research institutions.
