Sweden will supply Poland with 6 thousand Carl-Gustaf anti-tank grenade launchers

Saab will supply the Polish Army with 6 thousand Carl-Gustaf M4 anti-tank grenade launchers with various types of ammunition, the Military Publishing Institute (Wojskowy Instytut Wydawniczy, WIW) under the Polish Ministry of Defense reported on Friday.

“The Armaments Agency, on behalf of the Ministry of National Defense, has ordered 6,000 Carl-Gustaf M4 grenade launchers from the Swedish manufacturer along with new FCD 558 fire control devices and various types of ammunition (including anti-tank, high-explosive, anti-tank and fragmentation, smoke, illumination, training),” the report says.

The contract is reported to be implemented in 2024-2027, and its cost is PLN 6.5 billion (about $1.6 billion).

“Currently, intensive training is underway in Sweden for the use of Carl-Gustaf M4”, – the message says.

Carl-Gustaf M4 – 84-mm anti-tank grenade launcher. Used by the armed forces of the USA, Sweden, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Hungary. Depending on the type of ammunition, the effective range of the grenade launcher is from 300 to 2100 m.
