This package of military aid will include missiles, ammunition and spare parts for previously transferred armored vehicles .
As reported on the official website of the Swedish government, the cost of all this is approximately 3.4 billion Swedish kroner or almost 314 million US dollars. This is the 13th military aid package for Ukraine from Sweden since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion.
“The government has decided on a new support package for Ukraine. The aid covers ammunition and spare parts for several equipment systems that Sweden previously transferred to Ukraine,”, – says the press release.
These are spare parts and ammunition for CV9040C infantry fighting vehicles (Stridsfordon 90) and Stridsvagn 122 tanks. It is the Swedish version of the German Leopard 2A5 tank.
Also, the Swedish Parliament authorized the government of the country to sell air-to-air missiles to the USA; Jaktrobot Rb 99 in 2023. The United States, in turn, will present these missiles to Ukraine and will offer Sweden a more modern version of aircraft missiles of the same class. Such weapons can be used on F-16 fighters, which will be provided to Ukraine in the future.
