Svechnikov shines at the start and end of the match

(Chicago) Andrei Svechnikov was the lone shootout scorer and the Carolina Hurricanes defeated the Chicago Blackhawks 4-3 on Tuesday.

Svechnikov also scored the first goal of the game.

Warren Foegele and Vincent Trocheck hit the other goals for the Hurricanes, who won a fifth straight game.

James Reimer made 30 saves. Philipp Kurashev, Patrick Kane and Dylan Strome beat him – the latter tying the score 3-3, at 13:21 in the third period.

Kevin Lankinen blocked 38 shots for the Hawks, who are 0-4 in 60-minute games this season.
