With the 2021-22 NFL season just a couple of weeks away, it’s the time of year where fans and pundits make their predictions about the events to come, while the punters eagerly examine the NFL betting odds. After an entertaining season ended with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers winning the Super Bowl back in February, there’s bound to be plenty more thrills and spills this term.
Indeed, few tipped the Bucs to go all the way and win the Super Bowl at the beginning of last season, and so there’s a significant interest in the teams that have the potential to pull off a similar surprise. Let’s take a look at a few sides that could end up contesting the Super Bowl against the odds.
After being the NFL’s laughing stock for a number of years, consistently rooted to the bottom of the AFC North, the Cleveland Browns came roaring back last season and made it all the way to the divisional round of the play-offs. There’ll be a lot of confidence within their roster heading into the new campaign, and if head coach Kevin Stefanski can get that extra few percent out of his players, they could be a dark horse to make it all the way to the Super Bowl.
The latest NFL betting tips see the Browns priced at around 16/1 to emerge triumphant this season. Momentum will be everything, and if they can get off to a strong start it’s not hard to imagine them going even further than last term.
It’s not that long since the Seattle Seahawks were winning and competing in Super Bowls on a regular basis, but the team have experienced something of a decline in recent seasons. The Seahawks have been regular appearance makers in the playoffs over the last decade or so, but they have struggled to reach the business end of the postseason since they agonisingly lost the Super Bowl in 2015.
At odds of around 18/1, the Seahawks are certainly an outside bet to go all the way this season, but with long-serving head coach Pete Carroll still at the helm, they’re always in with a shout. Their preseason results haven’t been all that impressive, but you’d expect them to be much more competitive when push comes to shove.
New England Patriots
Last season was the first time in 12 years that the New England Patriots failed to make the playoffs. With Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski having departed the franchise, there is a sense that the six-time Super Bowl winners have somewhat lost their aura of invincibility. They finished third in the AFC East, having recorded more defeats than victories, and this season the challenge will be to prove that they still have what it takes to challenge for the title.
Their odds of 33/1 to win the Super Bowl suggest that few believe they have the quality necessary. But with venerable head coach Bill Belichick still going strong, it’s hard to rule them out completely. In his time at Gillette Stadium, Belichick has fostered a unique winning mentality, but he’ll need to work a miracle if his team are to experience success this year.PUT 1xbet
