The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine proved operational information as of 08/19/2023 regarding the Russian invasion.

Began five hundred and forty-second day of large-scale armed aggression of the Russian Federation against our state.

Tonight, the Russian Federation launched another airstrike against Ukraine using Iranian attack drones “Shahed-136/131”. Information regarding the consequences of this terrorist attack is currently being clarified.

During the past day, the enemy launched 3 missile and 41 air strikes, launched 74 attacks from rocket salvo systems on the positions of our troops and populated areas. As a result of Russian terrorist attacks, unfortunately, there are dead and wounded among the civilian population. Residential buildings and other civil infrastructure were destroyed.

The probability of launching missile and air strikes throughout the territory of Ukraine remains high.

Over the past 24 hours, 36 combat clashes took place.

In the Volyn and Poliske directions the operational situation is without significant changes.

On the Siverskyi and Slobozhanskyi directionsthe enemy carried out airstrikes in the Krasnaya Zora and Veterinarny areas of the Kharkiv region. The enemy carried out mortar and artillery attacks on more than 25 settlements, in particular, Karpovychi, Grem’yach of Chernihiv region; Seredyna-Buda, Rozhkovichi, Vodolagy of the Sumy region and Strelecha, Vovchansk, Krasny Yar, Zemlianka in the Kharkiv region.

On the Kup’yan directionthe enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the Sinkivka area of ​​the Kharkiv region. Carried out airstrikes in Kurylivka, Kislivka and Hlushkivka districts of Kharkiv region. The following settlements were hit by enemy artillery and mortar fire: Kamianka, Krasne Pershe, Masyutivka, Kislivka, Berestov of the Kharkiv region.

On the Lymansky direction airstrikes were carried out in the areas of Belogorivka Luhansk Oblast and Spirony Donetsk Oblast. About 15 settlements, in particular, Nevske, Kreminna, Belogorivka of the Luhansk Region and Torske, Svyat Pokrovske, Spirne, Rozdolivka of the Donetsk Region, were hit by enemy artillery fire.

In the direction of Bakhmutthe enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the areas east of Bila Hora and Toretsk of the Donetsk region. Conducted airstrikes in Klishchiivka and Andriivka districts of Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements, including Orikhovo-Vasylivka, Bakhmut, Bila Gora, Diliivka, Pleshchiivka, and New York of the Donetsk region, were affected by enemy artillery fire.

In the Avdiivsk directionthe enemy carried out unsuccessful offensive actions in the districts of Novokalinov and Avdiyva of the Donetsk region. More than 15 settlements were hit by artillery fire, including Novokalynove, Tonenke, Severne, Nevelske, Netaylove, Karlivka of the Donetsk region.

In the Mariinsky direction Defense forces continue to hold back the advance of Russian troops in Mar’inka and Krasnohorivka districts of Donetsk region. The enemy launched an airstrike in the Krasnohorivka region of the Donetsk region. More than 10 settlements, including Gostre, Maryinka, Novomykhailivka, Kostyantynivka, Antonivka of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.

On the Shakhtarsky direction, the enemy carried out an air strike in the Staromayorsk area. More than 10 settlements, including Vugledar, Prechistivka, Velyka Novosilka, Blagodatne, Urozhaine, Rivnopil of the Donetsk region, were hit by artillery fire.
