The press service of the Northern Fleet informed about the exercises. They were attended by two submarines – “Kaluga” and “Vladikavkaz”. Diesel-electric vehicles belonging to the Kola flotilla of heterogeneous, appeared in the Barents Sea, in the square of the sea range, and fired torpedoes without a warhead. For this, the submariners carried out a search for targets. After detecting objects, they conducted a tracking, went into position for a torpedo attack and fired. Each submarine fired a projectile, hitting conventional targets. It is noted that the combat units operated at different depths. One maneuvered at 50 meters, and the second plunged to twice the depth.
All the maneuvers performed, including shooting, were carried out in compliance with all safety requirements. After the shots, a special floating craft lifted two torpedo units from the sea surface.
