The trial of Marc-André Grenon resumed Thursday morning at the Chicoutimi courthouse with the testimony of police officer Christian Royer.

The police recovered the glass and straws used by Marc-André Grenon in a trash can at the cinema.

He waited until Mr. Grenon left to put on gloves and retrieve the glass and the two straws that were in the lid. It was the only glass in the trash.

Meanwhile, his colleague went to get a bag from his vehicle to put the evidence. Christian Royer emptied the contents of the glass into the trash, avoiding touching the places where it would be possible to find DNA, then he slipped the glass and the straws into the bag which was sealed on site.

The police recovered the glass from the cinema's trash can.

The police then took the road to return to their office located in Boucherville. I went into the office and took notes about the evening, Mr. Royer said. He put an identification sticker on the bag before putting it in his locker, locked with a padlock.

The next day, his colleague went to carry the bag to the forensic science and forensic medicine laboratory in Montreal.
