Story of female feticide;  Malayalam movie ‘Pippalandri’ for OTT release

The Malayalam movie ‘Pippalanthri’, which tells the story of a female feticide shot in the villages of Rajasthan, is getting ready for direct OTD release. Directed by newcomer Shoji Sebastian, the film will be released on the 18th of this month on Neestream, a leading OT platform.

The idea of ​​’Pippalantri’ is a journey in search of the secrets of female feticide, which is a social evil. The film tells the story of the survival of a mother who wanders to save the life of her baby girl. According to the cast, the film captures the rituals and customs of the villages of Rajasthan.

The film was shot entirely in Rajasthan with the permission of the village chiefs and mobilized hundreds of villagers. The film discusses the socio-political dimensions of female feticide.
