Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement warning of a severe snowstorm that is set to hit southern Manitoba this weekend. Snowfall is expected to begin Saturday evening. The federal weather agency warns that snow could turn into freezing rain and rain in southern portions -eastern part of the province, including the Red River Valley.
