Un Stoneham man arrested in possession of homemade bombs

Sûreté du Québec police officers conducted a search Tuesday in a residence on Tewkesbury Road, in Stoneham. They discovered and seized material that could be used to make explosive devices.

We are talking about 4 homemade bombs, propane and other substances which can be used to make explosive devices, specifies Béatrice D'Orsainville, spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec.

A 42-year-old man, Dominic Pelletier, was arrested in connection with the search. He is accused of breach of probation and several related charges related to explosive substances, including having them in his possession, specifies the Sûreté du Québec.

Dominic Pelletier appeared Tuesday at the Quebec City courthouse and remains detained.

The Sûreté du Québec confirms that it was videos published on social media that led investigators to the arrest of Mr. Pelletier.

The police force indicates in a press release that this operation has required the deployment, in addition to investigators from the Major Crimes Investigation Division, of various units from the Sûreté du Québec, including explosives technicians, the Forensic Identification Service and a dog handler.
