Lünen (North Rhine-Westphalia) – Drink tea and wait? This is not for entrepreneur Engin Ergün (48). He made a rocket launch with his iced tea start-up “4Bro” and achieved sales of 25 million euros in 2020 – after just nine months!
The business graduate expects up to 80 million euros for 2021, because tea is now also sold in large retail chains.

How did the start-up come about? “That was a coincidence,” says Ergün and laughs. “A private label was never my goal, but then in 2019 I was sitting in a bar. Everyone addressed each other with ‘Bro’ – I found that exciting.”
In the end, the idea was to bring a product onto the market for precisely this target group (approx. 15-30 years old).
Ergün speaks of around eight million people in Germany, “who share the same taste in music, especially German rap, the style of clothing and the language.”
The entrepreneur therefore wants to grow further: after iced tea, energy drinks and cornballs, a lemonade will be launched in August, and new warehouses and a studio (including catering, gaming) will be built at the company’s headquarters (80 employees) in Lünen.
