In the application, SpaceX requests permission to use lower orbits (from 340 to 365 km) for its second-generation satellites to reduce latency to 20ms. The company also wants access to a wider range of frequencies for satellites and ground stations to increase data transfer rates on both incoming and outgoing channels.

SpaceX says these changes will allow them to provide high-speed Internet with low latency. delay for millions of people around the world who currently do not have access to quality broadband. However, their competitors may disagree that the new system will not interfere with other networks.
