Starbucks has teamed up with Polygon to launch a Web3 initiative to expand its customer loyalty program. This is stated in the project blog.
From September 12, customers and partners can join the Starbucks Odyssey waiting list. It is scheduled to launch at the end of 2022.
“This new experience […] will enable Starbucks Rewards members and Starbucks partners (employees) in the United States to earn and purchase digital collectible stamps in the form of non-fungible tokens (NFTs),” Polygon said.
According to TechCrunch, users will be able to play interactive games or solve problems to learn more about coffee or the company itself. For completing the so-called “journeys”, they will receive NFTs, each of which provides bonuses at the network's establishments.
“As a leading infrastructure provider, […] Polygon provides an ideal launching pad for Starbucks' entry into Web3,” said Sandeep Nailwal, co-founder of the platform.
