Star Wars: The 5 Best Fights in Live-Action Series

Natasha Kumar By Natasha Kumar Aug24,2024

Since its very first steps in the cinema, the Star Wars saga has delivered us fight scenes, each more grandiose than the last. A quality of choreography that reached its apotheosis with Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, but which since the acquisition by Disney has not always proved to be up to the challenge. However, it must be recognized that in live-action series the quality of some fights is truly excellent and that is why we are looking today at the 5 most epic of them.

Star Wars: The 5 Best Fights in the Live-Action Series

If the series Ahsoka was relatively uneven in its pace and the quality of its episodes until a finale that predicts a more effective sequel (at least we hope so), it must be recognized that the fan-service was there and for the greatest happiness of the fans of the saga. With the return of Hayden Christensen in the role of Anakin Skywalker and the flashback scenesthat brought us back during the Clone Wars, the nostalgia of an entire generation was there. It is therefore without great surprise that when Anakin defeated his former apprentice during episode 5 of the series in the World Between Worlds, the fight begins between the two duelists and the virtuosity of the two Jedi in the handling of the lightsaber offers us a most memorable fight.

#4 the prison insurrection (Andor)

Star Wars: the 5 best fights from the live-action series

The qualities of this prequel to the filmRogue One: a Star Wars storyare numerous. Indeed, besides a perfect casting, the story that is delivered to us here immerses us in the universe of Star Wars and in this famous distant galaxy as we had never seen it before, the most striking arc of this first season being undoubtedly the imprisonment of Cassian Andor, in a very high-security penal colony on the planet Narkina 5. This journey within the imperial prison ends when Cassian and the other prisoners decide to revolt. Then follows a memorable fight with the imperial guards at the end of which Cassian and his new friends manage to escape by throwing themselves into the water, if not the moving Kino Loy interpreted by Andy Serkis (the latter unfortunately not knowing how to swim).

#3 Sol vs. The Acolyte

Star Wars: The 5 Best Fights in the Live-Action Series

The series has divided fans of the Star Wars galaxy quite a bit, due to questionable acting, writing and production issues, and a lack of respect for the saga's lore. Such a mixed reception that Disney made a radical decision regarding the continuation of the series. However, we must recognize a great quality in The Acolyte, these are its laser sand fights with choreography worthy of the name and in particular in the last episode of the series, with the fight between Jedi Master Sol and the Stranger. We have here a real fight between Force users. A fight that is reminiscent of those from the prequels.

#2 the master against the fallen apprentice (Obi-Wan Kenobi)

Star Wars: the 5 best fights in the live-action series

As for The Acolyte, this series was not unanimous and for good reason; between an unnecessary stretching of the plot to have enough episodes to offer, the little credible redemption of the Inquisitor, script facilities that border on the ridiculous, it was not to everyone's taste. In addition to these problems, Obi-Wan Kenobi is not a series without qualities. The returns of Ewan McGregor as Obi-Wan and Hayden Christensen as Darth Vader in the Star Wars universe were a great pleasure. Their various exchanges left their mark, particularly the final fight between Master Kenobi and the young Sith Lord. With a setting that immediately sets the context in which the fight will take place, a mastery of sabers worthy of Star Wars, Episode III: Revenge of the Sithand the use of telekinesis to overcome his opponent, all this makes for an epic fight that reminds us how powerful these two protagonists are.

#1 Moff Gideon facing our heroes (The Mandalorian)

Star Wars: the 5 best fights from the live-action series

< p>The series The Mandalorianhas evolved and renewed itself over the course of its three seasons, with a mastered development of the lore and an almost flawless cast. Both with the blaster and the lightsaber, there is no shortage of grandiose fight scenes, and it is during the final fight of season 3 that we have the best of all. This confrontation which pits our heroes Din Djarin, Bo-Katan Kryze and the young Grogu against Moff Gideon and his Praetorian guards, mixes the blasters of the two Mandalorians, as well as the famous dark saber held by Bo-Katan, the flamethrower and the electric baton of Gideon, without forgetting the powers of Grogu which allow our heroes to survive the explosion of to the fall of the enemy ship. So here we have the best fight of the live-action series and it is even one of the most impressive of the entire Star Wars cinematic universe.

Tell us in the comments which of these fights left the biggest impression on you and don't miss the trailer for Skeleton Crew, the next series set in our favorite galaxy.
