Spying on Ukrainian air defenses — special services detained a man from Odessa

Odessa resident suspected of collaborating with Russian military intelligence. The man is charged with high treason, for which he could receive from fifteen years to life in prison.

Case details

The suspect was collecting up-to-date information about the location of units of the National Police “Lyut” assault brigade and recording the locations of mobile air defense fire groups. The informant transmitted the collected data via drafts in electronic mailboxes of email services for further correction of enemy strikes. The Odessa resident was detained at the end of August 2024 while performing a task.

What punishment does he face

The man is charged under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, namely, high treason. He faces a sentence of fifteen years to life in prison with confiscation of property.
