Sporting will host Porto on 17 October, read our forecast. Portugal’s two major football cities are re-emerging the strongest, who will be?
Sporting managed to play only two matches in the current championship, but both were able to complete with a positive result for themselves – 2: 0 each against Portimonense and Pasos de Ferreira. In the Europa League, the Portuguese were doing quite well, only after the victory over Aberdeen (1: 0) followed by an offensive defeat to the Scottish LASK (1: 4).
In the transfer window, the team was strengthened by Mario Juan from the Italian “Inter”. Also note the acquisition of Adana from Atlético.
Porto do not look as attractive in the current draw as they did a year ago. The reigning champion is still dealing with such formidable opponents as Braga (3: 1). In addition, it is possible to smash less eminent opponents like Boavista, into whose gates five unanswered goals flew in.
Unfortunately, in the previous match, the “dragons” could not deal with the not very strong “Maritimu” (2: 3), not having realized the 11-meter one.
Sporting has won six of the previous seven games.
Sporting has not lost at home in 16 of 17 head-to-head confrontations.
Porto have not scored more than a goal in 16 of their 17 away games.
15.07.20 Porto Sporting 20
05.01.20 Sporting Porto 12
05/25/19 Sporting Porto 7: 6
05/18/19 Porto Sporting 2: 1
01/26/19 Porto Sporting 2: 4
In our opinion, once again, the guests will not be able to score a lot at this stadium, which will be the reason for the defeat. They lost a few of the hottest footballers in the offseason without gaining anyone in their position. We think this will hit hard on the champion’s ambitions in the current championship. The home team is gradually gaining condition, and after leaving the European competition, they concentrated on the domestic championship.
Our forecast is Sporting’s double chance for 1.80 at BC Fonbet.
