Specialists told how to properly charge the phone so as not to damage the battery

Phone batteries deteriorate over time, but you can minimize this effect by using expert advice.

Initially, your phone may have some power left in it, but over time you will find that by lunchtime the battery is half dead.

How to charge your phone?

Golden rule — most of the time keep your phone battery charged between 30% and 90%. Charge your phone when it drops below 50%, but turn it off before it reaches 100%.

For this reason, you may want to leave your phone on overnight to charge.

Increasing the last charge from 80% to 100% causes the lithium-ion battery to age faster.

Maybe , it is better to recharge in the morning, at breakfast or at your desk. This makes it easier to keep track of your battery percentage while charging your phone.

iOS users can use the Shortcuts app to set a notification when the battery reaches a certain percentage. This is done under the “Automation” tab, then “Battery level”.

Recharging the phone completely is not fatal to the phone's battery, and it seems almost illogical not to do it, but fully recharging every time you charge shortens its life.

What percentage should you charge your phone to?

This is understandable if you want your phone to start day at 100% to keep it running as long as possible, especially during the day when you need it for navigation and other vital tasks.

However, if you know what you are going to spend the whole day at home and you won't need the full power of your phone for example, you should try to charge it to about 80%.

It should still last you a whole day and reduces the strain on the battery , helping it last longer.

Similarly, on the other end of the scale, don't let your battery charge drop below 20%.
