Airbus has delivered the first NH90 helicopter in Standard 3 configuration to Spain.
The aircraft manufacturer said that a total of 16 helicopters in the new configuration will be delivered from a batch of 23 helicopters.
Ten NH90s will be deployed to the Spanish Army's airmobile forces and 6 to the Aerospace Forces.
The Spanish Navy will receive seven naval helicopters basing.
Deliveries will take place from December 2024 to 2028.
The first NH90 for the Spanish Navy in the tactical transport version (MSPT) is in the process of completing certification and is already in Albacete.
Spanish Navy pilots have already started training to start operating their first NH90.
«The upcoming addition of the Spanish Navy NH90 helicopter is the final step in the modernization, and Airbus Helicopters will be ready to meet the needs of the Spanish customer», – the company said.
