SpaceX has become one of the leaders in spacecraft construction, and now NASA's latest initiative to explore Mars, revealing plans about using its Starship spacecraft to carry out a mission to deliver Martian soil to Earth. According to a recently released NASA document, SpaceX proposes to use Starship at all stages of the mission – from launch from Earth to landing on Mars and return. The ambitious proposal includes a demonstration landing on Mars by 2029 to retrieve samples collected by the Perseverance rover. In the selection process, NASA noted SpaceX's “very strong team” and their partnership with the agency's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.
