SpaceX's Falcon 9 launch vehicle launched the Euclid space telescope of the European Space Agency (ESA), which will study the dark matter of the universe.
Euclid will reach the second Lagrange point (L2), which  located 1.5 million km from Earth on the opposite side of the Sun. The James Webb orbiting telescope is already there.
The European observatory plans to conduct a detailed study of galaxies to obtain new data on dark matter and dark energy.
Euclid is equipped with a telescope with a diameter of 1, 2 m, an optical camera, a spectrometer and a near-infrared photometer.
The project is valued at 1 billion euros and is designed for six years. The first data is expected to be received in 2024.
