Spacetop G1 became the world's first laptop with a virtual screen

Only yesterday we wrote about a smartphone for augmented reality, and now it became known about the release of a similar laptop — Spacetop G1.

The Sightful company announced its appearance a year ago, but only now it has gone on sale. The main feature of the laptop was the lack of a traditional screen.

The manufacturer calls the Spacetop G1 an augmented reality laptop, because instead of a regular display, it has compact wired AR-glasses, which can be stored in the top cover. The headset uses a pair of OLED screens with Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz each, which are capable of projecting a virtual screen equivalent to a 100-inch screen.

The device is built on the basis of a Qualcomm Snapdragon QCS8550 processor with Adreno 740 graphics accelerator, 16 GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128 GB UFS3.1 storage. Support for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.3 is indicated. The gadget runs SpaceOS, but apparently it's a modified version of Android.

The glasses themselves have microphones and speakers, and the laptop lid has a built-in webcam for video calls. The manufacturer talks about 8 hours of battery life.

Spacetop G1 can already be reserved on the official website, but the price of the novelty is not yet known.
