Sony postpones the release of the Xperia 5 VI indefinitely due to changing market trends

Sony has postponed the release of its new mid-range smartphone Xperia 5 VI indefinitely. According to Japanese media reports, the company is reviewing its strategy due to changing consumer preferences, which are increasingly choosing devices with large screens, such as the flagship Xperia 1 VI.

What is known:

200% Deposit Bonus up to €3,000 180% First Deposit Bonus up to $20,000

The Xperia 5 VI was previously expected to be a new premium mid-range smartphone, but now Sony has decided to focus on extending the life cycle of the current Xperia 5 V model. This move shows that the company is adapting its product line to new market trends.

It is known that Sony is working on three new smartphone models, the numbers of which — PM-1502-BV, PM-1503-BV and PM-1504-BV that were found in the IMEI database. Details about these devices have not yet been revealed.

There is also information that Sony's new flagship, the Xperia 1 VII, may get an updated camera with larger sensors. However, given that the Xperia 1 VI was only introduced in May 2024, the release of the Xperia 1 VII should not be expected anytime soon.
