Somalia hotel attack kills 15

15 people were killed in an attack on a hotel in Somalia

Last night, August 19, the armed group “Al-Shabaab” attacked the Hayat hotel in the Somali capital Mogadishu. As a result of the attack, 15 people were killed and several others were injured, local radio station Dalsan reports.

Several suicide bombers blew themselves up outside the hotel, one crashed into car at the door of the building. 

Security officials said that they managed to save many civilians, but the exact number was not reported.

Among the dead – the owner of the hotel, Abdirahman Hassan Iman. The ex-speaker of the Galmudug parliament, Ali Gagala Asir, was wounded, he, along with other victims, was hospitalized. The shootout between police and militants continues for 14 hours.

BAGNET recalls that in July a bus with football players was blown up in Somalia.
