The incident happened early last year when a 22-year-old Slovenian woman was hospitalized with a serious injury. According to the “victim” herself, she sawed branches and accidentally hit her hand with a circular saw, losing part of her limb. Moreover, the girl did not take the cut-off half with her to the hospital, against which the disability became irreversible. A year before the “tragedy”, the citizen signed contracts with five insurance companies. The police managed to prove that the girl deliberately went to get rid of the hand against the background of an agreement with her young man. The couple hoped to receive 1 million euros from insurers.

The prosecutor's office indicated that a few days before the incident, the chosen one of a Slovenian resident was looking on the Web for information on the principle of the artificial hand. However, at the trial, the victim herself insisted on her innocence, claiming that she would not deliberately maim herself. The higher authorities found the girl guilty and sentenced to two years for fraud. Her lover will go to prison for three years.
