< p>The Government of Slovenia sent 35 BMP M-80A to Ukraine. The cars should arrive in our country already today.
This is reported by the Slovenian publication 24UR, whose journalists photographed trains with IFVs on the way to the Polish border.
It is noted that replacement Slovenia a large loan for the purchase of a batch of new military equipment, which will exceed the supply to Ukraine. This deal is considered very beneficial for the Slovenian side.
M-80A – Yugoslav modernization of the infantry fighting vehicle, similar to the Soviet BMP-1 and 2. Such vehicles have been produced since 1979 and now, together with Ukraine, are in armament of five European states.
BMPs were mothballed at base in Pivnitsa. They they wanted to send them earlier, but difficulties caused Hungary's opposition to the transportation of military equipment to Ukraine through its territory.
The vehicles are in good condition. Mechanics prepared shipping for three weeks.
