Slovenia has reached an agreement with Finland to purchase Patria armored vehicles

Finland and Slovenia signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, February 13, which provides for Ljubljana to purchase armored vehicles from the Finnish manufacturer Patria.

This was reported by the Finnish Ministry of Defense, writes “European Pravda”.

The memorandum regarding the Patria AMV armored wheeled vehicles was signed by the Minister of Defense of Finland Antti Häkkinen and his Slovenian counterpart Borut Sajović in Brussels.

The document stipulates that Finland will provide Slovenia with support in the purchase of armored vehicles from Patria.

“Finland has developed armored vehicles and their operation in both the armed forces and industry, and this know-how will be offered by the Slovenian Defense Ministry as part of the future purchase of vehicles from Patria,” – explained Häkkiänen.

Currently, the exact number of units of equipment and the timing of its delivery to Slovenia have not been determined.

The manufacturer notes that the Patria AMV XP 8×8 – it is a market-leading, high-tech armored vehicle that “offers excellent firepower, protection and mobility”.

In November 2024, the Finnish company Patria received an order from Latvia for the supply of 56 armored command and staff vehicles.

It was recently reported that the Latvian Ministry of Defense has ordered Patria 6×6 armored vehicles for Ukraine as well.
