< p> Slovakia could not agree with Germany on a deal with the supply of Leopard tanks. Therefore, deliveries of T-72 tanks to Ukraine are still being postponed.

This was stated by the Ministry of Defense of Slovakia, according to Business Insider.

It is noted that Slovakia refused the planned deal, because in exchange for the supply 30 T-72 tanks of Soviet origin to Ukraine Berlin was able to offer Bratislava only 15 Leopard 2A4 tanks.

The Slovak Defense Ministry spokesman confirmed this information, saying that “15 Leopard tanks cannot be a solution for them, since Slovakia needs 30 main battle tanks per tank battalion.

At the same time, he clarified that Bratislava continues negotiations with the allies in order to find acceptable forms of support for Ukraine in the war against the Russian Federation.

Earlier < strong>BAGNET reported that Slovakia sent Ukraine a new defense aid package. The Armed Forces of Ukraine received five helicopters and ammunition for the Grad MLRS.

In addition, in April, Bratislava sent the C-300 air defense system to Ukraine.
